You can apply year round. Grants up to $10,000 must be used to remove health and safety hazards in your home. Loans up to $40,000 can be used to improve and modernize your home. The loans are to be repaid over 20 years. Interest rates are at 1%.

You must:

  • be a homeowner and occupy the house.
  • Be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere.
  • Have a family income within the very-low income limit
  • Be 62 years or older
